WORKING TOGETHER FOR A SAFER COFFEE SUPPLY CHAIN

Today, October 1, is International Coffee Day, an annual celebration of the diversity, quality, and dedication in the coffee industry. It’s an opportunity for coffee lovers around the world to share their passion for coffee and acknowledge the work and support of millions of coffee farmers, as well as all of the people involved in producing, trading, retailing, and serving coffee.

his year, the International Coffee Organization (ICO) and the International Labour Organization (ILO) have jointly launched a campaign that focuses on promoting the right of everyone in the coffee supply chain to a safe and healthy working environment.

Caring for People is one of the 3 key pillars of Sucafina's sustainability strategy. We believe in putting people first – by respecting and promoting human rights across our supply chains; investing in the development and wellbeing of our employees; and supporting the coffee communities that surround our operations.

You can read more about the work we’ve been doing to strengthen our commitment to human rights (including by joining the ILO’s Child Labour Platform), promote gender equity, invest in the health & safety and wellbeing of all our employees, and much more in our latest annual sustainability report.

And on International Coffee Day, Sucafina team members from around the world are showing their support for the #CoffeePeople campaign by sharing a photo with their cup of coffee and dedicating it to the amazing people who work throughout the coffee supply chain. Why not share your own photo using the #CoffeePeople hashtag?
