Inauguration Ceremony for the Expansion of Groupe Scolaire Bushobora

On Saturday, September 14, 2024, Sucafina Instant proudly participated in the inauguration ceremony for a school expansion project in Rwanda’s Gatsibo District, Eastern Province. This project, funded in collaboration with Rwacof (our sister company in Rwanda) and the Kahawatu Foundation, aimed to reduce overcrowding, create a better learning environment for children, foster pride in the local community, and improves educational attainment of 1,553 students across the district.

The expansion included the construction of six new classrooms, 144 desks to accommodate 288 students, 13 restrooms, and a dedicated girls' room, all designed to enhance the overall school experience for local students.

Before this project, many students had to attend school in shifts due to limited classroom space. Now, with the additional classrooms, students can attend full-time without the stress of overcrowding.

This project, however, is about more than just increasing capacity. It’s about creating a supportive, inclusive environment.

Our partnership with the Gatsibo District is part of a broader purpose of creating opportunities to improve lives, ensuring every child has access to proper education while directly supporting our local coffee-growing communities—one of the key focuses of the "Caring for People" pillar in Sucafina’s sustainability strategy.

As a global coffee company, we are dedicated not only to providing the best coffee solutions and positively impacting the lives of farmers and their families. We are proud to have contributed to this meaningful project and look forward to continuing our support for education and community development.
