Creating Opportunities to Improve Lives: 2026 School Project in Vietnam

Over the past months, through the combined efforts of our team and partners, Bao Thuan Kindergarten has undergone a significant transformation. A range of improvements were made across the school, from newly painted walls and colourful educational artwork to upgraded facilities designed to make everyday life safer, easier and more enjoyable for both children and teachers.

Coffee may be our business, but creating opportunities to improve lives goes far beyond the cup.

As an aspect of our Caring for People sustainability pillar, Sucafina Instant donates a percentage of its net profit each year to support educational projects in coffee-growing communities. Why? Because when coffee-growing communities thrive, we all do. Better schools create better futures, and we believe that's something worth investing in.

This year, our journey took us to Bao Thuan Kindergarten in Lam Dong Province, Di Linh District, Vietnam, nestled in the commune of Bao Thuan. It welcomes around 140 to 150 children aged from 3 to 5.

This kindergarten is located in one of the communities where many of the coffee farmers we work with live and grow their coffee.

Currently, Sucafina works with more than 2,900 certified coffee farmers across Di Linh District through sustainability programs such as Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) training, tree planting initiatives, demonstration plots and soil analysis. Around 800 of those farmers are based in Bao Thuan commune alone.

So when the opportunity came to support a local school, it felt close to home.

The project included:

  • A full repaint of the kindergarten
  • New flooring across the corridors and the kitchen area
  • Safer walking and play surfaces
  • An expanded dining area for mealtimes
  • New restroom facilities for the students
  • Upgrades to the gate and fencing
  • Improvements to the motorbike parking area
  • Six new high-resolution TVs for classroom learning
  • Colourful wall illustrations to brighten learning spaces

On May 27, representatives from Sucafina Vietnam, including Managing Director Vinh To and Que Mai, Operations Manager of Sucafina Instant APAC, joined students, teachers and families for the school's End-of-Year Ceremony.

It was a chance to celebrate the children, the end of another school year and the completion of a project that will benefit generations of students to come.

We were honored to partner with the school to renovate and improve some of its facilities in 2025. We hope these contributions will help create a safer, more inspiring environment for both teachers and children, supporting learning, growth and opportunities for generations to come.

During the visit, the team also presented an additional donation to the school. Together with Principal Le Thi My Hanh, they planted several trees in the school grounds, including a coffee tree – a small reminder of the connection between global partners, growers and buyers.

A commemorative stone was also unveiled to mark the partnership and the shared commitment to education.

Principal Le Thi My Hanh reflected on the impact of the project.

Sucafina's contribution has helped us create a better environment for our students, bringing a positive impact on their growth and development. We are truly grateful for the company's support in improving the school's facilities and creating better conditions for all of our children.

One of the things we love most about this project is that its impact will be felt long after the paint dries and the construction crews leave. Every morning, children will walk through those gates, sit in those classrooms, share meals with friends and create memories in spaces designed just for them.

And that's what this initiative is really about. Not just renovating a school but creating opportunities to improve lives. We are proud to have contributed to this meaningful project and look forward to continuing our support for education and community development.

Education is one of the most powerful ways to create lasting opportunities and strengthen communities. Many of the children attending Bao Thuan Kindergarten come from families connected to the coffee farms we proudly source from, making this project especially close to our hearts. We are delighted to support improvements that will provide a safer, more welcoming environment where these children can learn, grow, and thrive. By investing in their future today, we are helping create opportunities to improve lives for generations to come.
