Sustainable Packaging
Food and beverages, including coffee, have relied heavily on the use of plastic packaging for decades, but this has an environmental cost. As part of our commitment to sustainability and innovation, we are at the forefront in the development of packaging options with a lower environmental footprint, including plastic-free, fully recyclable, and compostable materials, such as:
- Metal lids for glass jars & tins - replacing millions of plastic caps.
- All metal tins - not composite materials which cannot be recycled.
- Special films and foils - recyclable or bio-degradable.
Making an IMPACT
Each year, Sucafina releases an annual sustainability report, in which we share our progress towards our 2030 sustainability strategy. We also provide updates and highlights from across our 3 key sustainability pillars:

And it goes even further by promoting positive, measurable change across 5 key areas of sustainability in coffee.
Supporting Communities
For many years Sucafina has used its network to implement a multitude of projects that benefit rural and urban communities. Among these is Sucafina Instant's support of Bushobora School in Rwanda. We funded, among other works, the construction of additional classrooms, helping to reduce overcrowding. This, in turn, has improved teaching quality and, thus, the quality of education pupils receive.
Every year, Sucafina Instant donates a percentage of its annual profit to a charity, selected by staff and management.
